 米国での５月の統計を見ると、新型コロナ感染で入院した患者の総数は１０万７千人。そのうち、ワクチン接種をしてなかった患者は１０万５千８００人、ワクチン接種をしていた患者は１千２００人。５月初期のワクチン接種率（少なくとも一回接種）は当時５２％だから、ワクチンを接種していなかった患者の入院率は極めて高い（98.9％対1.1%）。同月、新型コロナで亡くなった人の総数はおよそ１万８千人で、そのうち接種を二回済ませていた人の数は１５０人だった。死亡率もワクチンを接種していなかった人は極めて高い（99.2%対0.8%）。

一方、ワクチン接種した後に亡くなった人の総数は、接種が始まった昨年１２月から本年７月１９日までに６千２０７人。ワクチン接種総数は３億３千９００万回なので、３４万回接種すればそのうち６件ほど接種後に死者が出たということになる（0.0018%）。

アメリカで、ワクチン接種した後に亡くなった人の総数は、接種が始まった昨年１２月から本年７月１９日までに合計６千２０７人。その間のワクチン接種総数は３億３千９００万回。ワクチン接種の死亡率は０．００１８％になる。言い換えれば、３４万回接種すれば、そのうち６件ほどの割合で接種後に死者が出る、という計算になる。

いっぽう、アメリカでは、今年の５月の初めまでに全人口の５２％が新型コロナウイルスのワクチン接種を少なくとも１回は受けた。５月の初めの時点では、ワクチンを接種した人としなかった人の数がほぼ同数であった。そこでその時点以降の新型コロナ患者数（入院者）やコロナにより死亡数を比べることによって、ワクチン接種の効果を知ることができる。５月の統計は次のようなものだった。

新型コロナ感染で入院した患者の総数は１０万７千人。そのうち、ワクチン接種を二度終えていた患者の数は１千２００人（１.１％）だった。新型コロナウイルスで亡くなった人の総数は１万８千人を超えたが、そのうちワクチン接種をを二度済ませていた人の数は１５０人（０.８%）だった。

ぼくが上記に投稿したデータ（6,207人）は７月１９日のものですが、いま直近のＣＤＣのデータを調べたら、死者の総数は８月１６日時点で６千７８９人で、接種回数は３億５千７百万回です。
